The JSN’s SF based center is led by Rabbi Guttenberg. The expansion of the JSN to the city, as well as into the North Bay is being overseen by the director. Importing exciting programs, lectures, discussion groups and educational experiences is a challenging and rewarding experience.

With more than 40 classes happening per week in the greater bay-area, the educational director is tasked with overseeing that the quality of the content as well as the delivery is current, exciting, inspirational as well as true to the core of JSN’s overall mission of promoting Jewish literacy in the bay area.

Rabbi Avi Stewart was born and raised in Los Angeles. He has lived in a number of cities around the world including Mexico City and Jerusalem. Rabbi Stewart joined the JSN after receiving his Rabbinical Training at Ner Israel Rabbinical College. He also has an M.S. in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
