Description
The word said the most in prayer is probably understood the least! The Talmud teaches that saying "Amen" has the power to open the gates of Heaven. Yet, there are many other powerful words in Judaism that the Talmud does not say have the same effect. What is so unique about this simple, common word that it can it can have a spiritual impact that other aspects of prayer can not equal? This class goes directly to the Torah and Talmudic sources themselves to find the answer.
Rabbi Yaakov Marcus has worked at the forefront of Jewish education for more than 15 years. Currently he is a faculty member at Neve College in Israel as well as serving as a guest lecturer for numerous institutions around Jerusalem , including Hebrew University , Heritage House and a variety of others. Before moving to Israel , Rabbi Macus founded and led a synagogue in a suburb of Toronto .
